To my Good Friend

Dear Courtney,
I went to by the shoes for your wedding today. Your wedding is so near! I had to call Katie because I didn't remember the name of the shoe, and she told me it is called the Kendra.

I didn't think anything of it.

I waltzed right into that shoe store, and found our selected shoe right away. Then I got distracted by these BEAUTIFUL sandals that are reminiscent of my beloved bejeweled sandals.

And then I noticed these two very large men with do-rags. I didn't take much notice of it, besides saying 'huh, that's weird.'

Then I went to check out, and they were in line in front of me, and it was taking for- e- ver!

Then I became a little more aware of what was going on around me, and I noticed that all of the employees were really nervous, and clumped together.

And can I tell you Courtney, that I didn't really think much of it. Just thought to myself again "huh, that's weird."

Then, the worker came over and took me aside to a different CLOSED register, and she rang me up real quick, all the while calling me "hun," (which, is super annoying considering she was younger than I!)

And, just as I was digging in my purse, with my face bent over it, I heard a noise.

And wouldn't you know, when I looked up, ......

The cops had swarmed the shoe store!!!!!!

Oh.
My.
Gosh.

10-12 cops, some with big helmets and visors on ( I later figured out they were motorcycle cops,) came running in, and apprehended the two men.

Can you just imagine how big my eyes were?

And appparently that Flight or Fight scenario needs a revision, because my reaction was more like Freeze! Flight, Fight, or Freeze! I chose the freeze.

I quickly scurried out of there, leaving the beloved sandals there for another time, and had to weave my way through a crowd of cops and their "parked on the curb" cars.

Sheesh.

What I do for you, my friend, astounds me. I love you greatly, and will never be able to look at those Kendra white heels the same again.

Love,
Brittney

PS: Apparently those guys were counterfeiters, and were using forged money. Weird.

That story just gave me a gray hair!! I'm so glad you are safe! That has got to be the most unique excuse EVER for not getting the assigned wedding attire! You should be able to wear whatever you want now!!
