Ode to Days Long Past

I am so glad these days are over.

For a year, Ian was in the Middle East, and our only communication was through the wonderful free service of Skype.

And, somehow, his internet was better than mine, and I could never get a clear picture of him on my internet, though he could see me just dandy. I eventually resorted to pulling up a recent picture of him (that's him at the Dead Sea I think.)

Did I mention we had only been dating for 8 months?
And that for 5 of those 8 months he was away at school in Virginia?
And for 2 out of the remaining 3 months, I was a way at a sleepaway camp (as a counselor) in Pennsylvania?

So, for our 8 months in the same country, we were only in the same state for 4 of those weeks.

Sheesh.

It was a miracle we made it.

Did I mention that we both hated talking on the phone?

It truly was a miracle, thank you God!

But we made it, and now are preparing our family and friends to talking to us through Skype as well. And if you have any one who is a distance away, I would tell you to both get this free program! It's so much better being able to "look" into their eyes while you talk!

That's all.

Wow, that had to be hard! My sister's roommate has a boyfriend who spends every other semester abroad because he's a political science major. She uses Skype all the time, and she loves it! I think it might be the only thing that helps them make it through those long months that he's away.

I've heard of Skype - it sounds pretty cool. Maybe someday I'll try it.
Just more proof that you were meant to be together, right? Jessica's right, it must have been hard not actually being together.

I use Skype to connect with my friends who are travelling atm. I would be lost without it and it saves paying loads on phone bills.

I used Skype for the 1st time last week and LOVED it! It means so much more, to see and talk to the people you love! It made me miss my hubby even more!
