Brief Detour

On our drive back from Helen, Ian and I took a very scenic route from Georgia to Tennessee, and were looking for opportunities to pull over and capture the beautiful scenery.

I would have been happy pulling off to the side of the road, but apparently, when there isn't any shoulder and guard rails, that would be deemed "inappropriate."

Whatev.

So Ian found us a nice, safe, protected scenic overlook which we pulled into, scampered up the path, and took several quick pictures.

Reminded me of Psalm 121....

Psalm 121

A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;

8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

It was a beautiful minute and a half.

Beautiful. The Psalm is one of my favorites and I hope I get to see scenery like that someday!

And p.s: I love to get my husband to pull over on scenic overlooks when we are on a roadtrip!

So beautiful! And a beautiful Psalm to go with it. God's creation is breathtaking.

On our honeymoon last October, my hubby pulled over on the side of the road so we could take pictures of a huge tree... a tree where there were HUNDREDS of pairs of shoes hanging ... on the main road in the middle of nowhere. It was so funny...and definitely random!
