Hot {not so much} Mess

I am one hot mess today.

Seriously.

I think I have cried at least 6 times today, leaving my poor husband in a bewildered state of mind.

At least 3 of the times I had the presence of mind to go do it in a corner.

Or behind a computer screen.

Or into a scarf.

I'm not really sure what my deal is.

I'll blame it on the fact that my only sis got engaged yesterday and I can't be there to celebrate with her.

That, or the fact that I fell down our garage steps yesterday and my left knee is swollen and my right foot is in a heap of pain.

OR that I have been forcing myself to get up at 6:45 each morning and am on day 7 of the Shred.

And that alone is reason enough to cry.

{seriously! my muscles are weeping. WEEPING! (on a completely side note, whenever I hear "weeping," I think of "weeping and gnashing of teeth," and I think about what a very strange phrase that is, and how we never use the phrase "gnashing of teeth," in our common vernacular.)}

At least I'm level headed enough to know that if I'm like this, the best thing for everybody is if I just put myself in a time out.

Isn't the rule of thumb "one minute of time out for every year?"

How about one hour of time out for every year you are over 10? Maybe that's overdoing it a little bit.

So, I'm going to bed early, maybe to read a book (I'm working on a Christmas Carol, but I forget how depressing it is,) or maybe I'll just pass out with a nice warm heating pad on my knee.

Then I'll really be one hot mess.

I love that you used the phrase a "hot mess". I used it to describe myself last night and my husband didn't get it.

Keep it up on the Shred! I got it from Netflix and it sat on the TV for months before I finally sent it back, without doing it a single time! : (

Ah, don't cry Brittney! That makes me sad. Cheer up, and if A Christmas Carol depresses you pick up something light-hearted - and sleep. Sleep always helps me.

okay so this has nothing to do with this blog post but maybe it'll make you laugh...

last night I had a dream that i was at work and i picked up a chart and it had your name on it. (i apparently knew your full name) and i went into the room thinking nothing of it and i checked you in did the exam etc etc and i KNEW it was you but i felt so weird being like "i love your blog" so i didn't say anything! I kept going in to check on you because I was SURE you MUST recognize me! after about 3 hours of going in and out of your room i was getting so mad that you didn't recognize me so i had one of the other nurses call me on our little walky-talky things and tell me that "your husband jorden is on the phone" while i was in your room. and even THAT didn't get a response from you and i started crying in your room after that and you were looking at me like i was a FREAK! so finally i broke down and told you everything thru a horrible sob fest and you were like "oh i knew all along i just feel horrible and could have cared less about that right now" lol

i woke up laughing because it was so ridiculous even for a preggo dream! haha

anyway, hope it made you laugh like it did for me (and not freak you out that im dreaming about you! haha)

You poor honey!

I hope you are doing better, and that you got caught up in the Christmas magic that is this time of year :)

I hope that you are crying less, and if you ever need a laugh, People of walmart is always a place to make you smile, or at least feel better about yourself!!!
