New Fangled

Ian and I were just sitting in the computer lab of our training center when a tour group walked by.

{A tour group of mostly twenty 70+ year olds, mind you}

The tour guide paused to explain what was in this room, explaining that us younger people tended to take laptops with us when we headed to the field.

This started an impromptu discussion of technology but one voice rang out to us inside the room

{who were all typing away}

Old Man- "My son just told me that my VCR is outdated! I guess I'll have to get a new one."

{crickets}

REALLY?!?

I'm all for letting older generations hang on to their ways, but shouldn't you at least know that there are new ways? As in, be aware?

Didn't the whole DVD revolution happen over 10 years ago?

Do they even sell VHS?

It made us all crack up inside the room at the humor of the situation.

{and it made me want to go up to them, loveingly pat them on the head and say, "don't worry, it will all be alright!}

HA! That's hilarious! Brian still makes fun of me for buying him VHSs for our one year dating anniversary (7 years ago)- At least it was better than that!

Do I dare admit it...it was only last year that I sold my DVD/VCR player and got rid of all my VHS tapes. Ouch. That hurts even typing it out. I totally understand where those older folks where coming from.

LOL

oh my goodness, what does it say about me that we still have a VCR player? We do still have tapes for the kids that we don't have on DVD yet. Is that ok!? :) This made me laugh!! Hope you are having a great day!
